About this Event

WHITEFISH FREERIDE COMPETITION

2025 WHITEFISH MOUNTAIN RESORT 1FSA JUNIOR 3* REGIONAL

3*’s have been designed to provide high-level competitions for experienced athletes looking for the opportunity to compete with out of Region freeriders. These are multi-day competitions, held on more demanding venues fitting the performance level of the athletes involved. Registration is run entirely by seeding.

This event is only open to experienced IFSA U15 and U19 athletes. U12 is not available in 3* IFSA Jr. Freeride events.

All participants and coaches must have a current IFSA junior membership to compete, and coaches must be certified with the IFSA to coach.

Friday, March 7 - Day 1 - U15 Inspection and Competition

  • 8:30 -9:30 - U15 Check In. U19 Athletes may also pick up pre-purchased discounted event lift tickets at this time.
  • 10:00 -11:00 U15 Inspection - 1 Run Only.
  • 11:30 U15 Competitor Meeting at Finish.
  • 12:30 - 3:00 U15 Comeptition Day 1 Starts. 1 Run Only.
  • 3:00 U15 Competition Day 1 Completed.
  • 4:30 Mandatory Coaches and Certified Parent Coaches Only Meeting.

  • 8:20 Early Load for Competitors (Chair 6 at 8:20, Chair 1 at 8:30)
  • 9:00 – 10:00 Inspection U15 and U19 Divisions
  • 10:30 – 3:00 Day 2 Competition for U15 and U19 Divisions.
  • 4:30 Awards – U15 and U19. Base Lodge Patio – 1015 Glades Drive

ATTENTION ATHLETES AND PARENTS

  • --Back Protectors and helmets are MANDATORY for an athlete's competition run(s)

  • --It is MANDATORY for athlete competitors to have a CERTIFIED IFSA COACH with a current IFSA Coach Membership

ATTENTION COACHES

Coaches who HAVE NOT registered will not be granted ticketing benefits or access to the venue. Please help keep events running smoothly by completing registration through the IFSA registration site.

  • It is mandatory for coaches to also register for any IFSA Junior events they plan to attend. There is no registration fee, however registration is compulsory if coaches plan to attend.
  • It is mandatory for coaches to have an active IFSA Coach Membership and hold current L100 or L200 certification.


Coaches will ONLY qualify for tickets and venue access by completing event registration through the IFSA registration site. You must be a currently certified IFSA Coach with a 2024 IFSA Coach Membership and registered on Live Heats.

  • 1 Athlete: No ticket
  • 2-4 Athletes: 1 Free Coach ticket
  • 5-10 Athletes: 2 Free Coach tickets
  • 11-15 Athletes: 3 Free Coach tickets
  • 16+ Athletes: At Event Host’s discretion


CANCELLATION POLICY

  • If a rider requests a refund more than two weeks prior to the event date, a full refund (minus transaction fees) will be issued.
  • If the event should be cancelled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances on event day, no refund will be issued to help cover the administrative costs of event setup and compensating the judges and employees required to be on the hill.
  • It is at the sole discretion of the Event Organizer, and not the IFSA, when and under what circumstances a refund will be issued. To request a cancellation or refund, you must contact the Event Organizer.

We need volunteers to help with this event! Ski Ninjas, Score Runners, Crowd Control and Equipment Tear Down. Please go to our if interested.

REGISTRATION

What do I do after I register?
Please double check your entry, make sure it is right. You will be emailed a confirmation/receipt from IFSA.

I need to make a change to my registration!
Changing your category at registration is not an option. If the information provided is incorrect (you want to change divisions, for instance) you must re-register for the event with the correct information (name, date, age, gender, category, etc). This will require you to pay for a second entry while the refund is being processed. Please allow up to two weeks for a refund of the incorrect entry to be processed. To request the refund, you must follow refund request steps listed above by the cutoff date for your event.

What are my responsibilities as a competitor?
Events are a group effort. It requires timeliness and accountability of not only the event staff, but of each and every competitor. There are many details each person is responsible for in order for us all to have a fun day on the snow. Making sure your information is accurate, you are on time and prepared for each event is required.


DAY OF EVENT

What are my transport options getting to the event and around the village?
The SNOW Bus will also operate between Whitefish and Whitefish Mountain Resort. A shuttle will operate in the upper village areas, and all parking lots will be open through the event. Please obey all parking signage and park as per normal.


Where do I Check-In?
Mandatory check-in at the BASE LODGE - 3RD FLOOR MT. JACKSON ROOM (1015 Glades Drive, Whitefish, MT 59937) to confirm your spot, get some Monster, snag some stickers, and be an awesome competitor. See schedule above.

Where can I find results?
Results are available at the Awards Ceremony and are available at or on the IFSA site.

Can I volunteer for this event?
