The selection for 2024’s If All Arkansas Read the Same Book is “The Secret Book of Flora Lea” by Patti Callahan Henry. This event is made possible with the support of the Arkansas State Library, the Library of Congress Center for the Book: Arkansas affiliate, and a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.A novel inspired by the true story of child evacuees from London during WWII, this novel explores what happens when a woman stumbles across a mysterious children’s book and long-held secrets about her missing sister and their childhood seen in the English countryside come to the surface.

**The Faulkner County Library will close for library services at 7:00 pm but you are invited for an after-hours Author Talk with nationally celebrated author, Patti Callahan Henry! Refreshments will be provided at no cost to attendees. This event is free and open to the public. No registration is required.
Patti will be introduced at 7:00 pm and will present on "The Secret Life of Flora Lee" beginning around 7:15 pm. Patrons are invited to stay after the reading to have the author sign copies of her published works, starting at approximately 8:00 pm.
Books-A-Million will be selling "The Secret Life of Flora Lee" and other published works by Patti Callahan Henry leading up to the event at their location in the Lewis Crossing Shopping Center and will be on-site at the library the day of the event.
About the Author
Patti Callahan Henry is a New York Times and USA Today best-selling author of sixteen novels including Surviving Savannah and Becoming Mrs. Lewis. She is the recipient of the Christy Award, the Harper Lee Award for Alabama’s Distinguished Writer of the Year Award, and the Alabama Library Association Book of the Year. She is the cohost and cocreator of the popular weekly online live web show and podcast Friends and Fiction. A full-time author and mother of three, she lives in Alabama and South Carolina with her family.
