About this Event

Field Trip – Yuin Country on NSW South Coast including Narooma and surrounds, to Tathra and surrounds (7-8 hours drive from Sydney)

5 days/4 nights: Monday 21 October – Friday 25 October

FAQs

Travel: car-pooling (pre-arranged through class/moodle link). Note personal car use form in Moodle – checking you are insured and car is well-serviced. Please split fuel costs with your colleagues. Some students can come with the staff in one of the staff cars (no fuel cost).

Cost: $297 each for cabin accommodation in bunks in nice holiday/caravan parks near beaches. Payment through link on moodle. Due 5pm Monday 7 October.

Food: you will purchase most of your own meals on the road down the South coast and some will be catered for (e.g. Daniel will order and pay for pizzas at the pub the first night in Narooma). Please advise Daniel in the week 1 or 2 class, or by email ([email protected]) by 2 October of any special dietary requirements for planning the catering a bit. If gluten free, you may be able to bring GF bases for the pizza.

Day 1: bring your own packed lunch, drinks and snacks at least for this day and the next day. We will have some time to shop during the week.

We will have basic kitchen facilities at both places and will prepare some of our meals and get some take-away etc.

Accommodation

Accommodation at both sites will be basic but comfortable cabins – and may be cold at night. So bring warm sleeping bags and layers of warm clothing to be prepared for cold nights/lots of time outdoors.

o You will be staying in a large ‘beach house’ or a 2-bedroom cabin which includes shared kitchen, 2.5 bathrooms, beds and bunks made up with linen, pillows and doona, but bring your own sleeping bag also, as you may want it for warmth.
