About this Event

  • Ticket link will be emailed when it is available. The field trip cost is $250 per person.
  • If you are willing to drive, have a valid licence, access to a vehicle and insurance please list yourself as a driver on Moodle.
  • Please join a carpool on Moodle if you are a passenger.
  • Please wear sturdy shoes and bring a raincoat, warm clothes, hat, reusable water bottle and coffee cup.
  • Please bring a pillow, warm bedding like a sleeping bag, towel, toiletries and any medications you need.
  • Accommodation is in one bunk room with around 30 beds all in the one room. They are very close together. Please bring earplugs and sleeping masks if you are a light sleeper.
  • Bathrooms are shared.
  • If you require a separate sleeping space there is a smaller space with 4 beds in a corridor. There is another room with 3 beds that has a door that can be closed.
  • If you prefer to camp rather than being in the dorm room please bring all your camping gear – tent, mattress, bedding etc. There is also space to park campervans.
  • Lunch and dinner and provided on Friday, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are provided on Saturday, Breakfast is provided on Sunday.
  • Tea and coffee are provided along with a range of different milk options.
  • All meals will have vegan and gluten free options
  • There is a full kitchen available if you have special dietary requirements you can bring your own food.
  • Please BYO other snacks and drinks. Bonus points if you dumpster dive for these!

Field trip - Sydney

8:30am – 4:30pm

If you cannot attend you MUST SMS Jacqui on 0411 274 838, especially if you are a driver!

Meet at the first site, Randwick Permaculture Garden in the carpark at 8:30am. There are two vehicles with extra space for storing overnight gear.

8:30am – 5:00pm

If leaving from Sydney you need to allow 1.5 hours to drive to Wollongong, recommend leaving at 7am from UNSW at the latest.

Sunday Morning

Clean up, pack up and head off home by 10am. On the way home:

· There are a number of nice bushwalks near the Girls Guides Camp.

· You can opt to take the scenic drive home via the Royal National Park.
