IEG returns to Chesterfield Labour Club on Saturday 26 April with a fabulous line-up of music and Poetry.May Days in Barcelona: Sheffield based May Days in Barcelona is the work of multi-instrumentalist Simon Clowes. �Solo shows are based around Simon using 4 loop pedals simultaneously, to create a melodic wall of sound, with violins weaving over fuzzy shoegaze guitars and analogue synths. May Days In Barcelona’s sound draws from elements of Post-Rock, Minimalism and Baroque Pop but always with a focus on stellar songwriting.
Jamie Thrasivoulou: Force of nature, author of poetry collections Best of a Bad Situation and Our Man, official poet for Derby County FC, front man of band Kez and longstanding friend of IEG, Jamie returns following the publication of his most recent collection Feral. Unlikely to pass through wandering as a lonely as a cloud, more likely to grab the audience by the collar and pin them to the wall, whilst delivering razor sharp poetry exploring themes of displacement, poverty, depression, loss, and self-sabotage.
Jonathan Kinsman: Author of the joint winner of the Indigo Dreams poetry pamphlet prize for & in 2017 and the singularly exceptional, radical reimagining of the lives of the 12 apostles with Witness in 2020, Jonathan is a is a trans man living on the outskirts of Manchester who is bisexual and polyamorous. His first full collection, The Fireman's Daughter, has been described as a "a bruised, searing, and occasionally claustrophobic examination of the human condition." Also, an absolutely captivating performer and author of the best poem I've read this year.
Ichabod Wolf: Still basking in the magnificence of his recent incredible live album Live at St Leonard's, albeit in its lack of wider recognition of its brilliance, the resident genius of the Chesterfield Labour Club will be back to deliver his usual brand of sonorous majesty combined with audience antipathy.
