About this Event
In February this year, after nearly three years of below-average rainfall, Cataluña’s reservoirs fell to under 16 percent capacity, declaring a drought emergency. There can be no doubt that the use of water in the region, particularly Barcelona, will need to undergo a wide-ranging systemic transformation.
The practice of strategic design works in the gaps of the present to point to better futures. It is an invitation to map out complexity, see different potential in the world, and shape the right questions needed to tackle critical problems.
This workshop will bring together stakeholders and citizens from across the city to use a socio-material framework that spans from everyday objects, through places and services, up to systems, and even systems-of-systems. Once the reality of today’s Barcelona is revealed, we will identify where it might be possible to convene around specific intervention points to make the changes needed in the future.
