To wrap up IDS Vancouver 2023, McKinley Studios, Made by Pacific, and Monte Clark are hosting a closing party celebrating the design community and group exhibition, The Room, examining a relationship to art and design within a domestic setting.
Drawing inspiration from André Breton's poignant question, "Isn't the real significance of a work, not the meaning we think we give it, but the meaning it is likely to take in relation to what surrounds it?” The Room explores the interplay between objects, context, and the observer's interpretation. On view is a captivating presentation of works by Monte Clark’s artists along with rare and internationally sourced design pieces curated by Max King. The exhibition transcends the conventional boundaries of artistic expression, embracing the paradoxical order of eclectic curation. The Room, on view at Monte Clark, 53 Dunlevy, Vancouver, September 16th through October 7th, 2023.
