”How can we be better humans? What stands in our way?”
Wrong ideas can occupy the mind and stifle one’s willingness to change for the better. Pride, despair, materialism, the fulfilment of lower desires can become a hurdle to our development as humans when they replace humility, hope, spiritual balance along with lofty aims and virtue.
The Quran is full of stories that show how these vices can become intellectual idols that cripple the human mind and soul. Only by freeing ourselves from these vices will we be able to restore the core of our humanness.
This session will thus seek to provide an analytical reading of the stories of Prophets Nuh, Salih, Hud, Musa, Yunus, Zakariyya, Ibrahim, Shu’aib (May Allah’s peace be upon them) and our beloved Prophet (May Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) with the aspiration to fulfil the purpose of our creation by removing the hindrances that prevent its fulfilment.
