ANCESTRAL SUMMIT

A Family-Centered Gathering for Legacy & Sustainability
This year’s Ancestral Summit is all about family togetherness and sustainability. Bring your entire family to connect, learn, and celebrate your lineage. Each workshop is designed to help you explore your roots, strengthen family bonds, and honor the ancestors who made our journey possible.
2:00 PM – Welcome, Opening Prayer & Libation. We begin by grounding ourselves in gratitude and reverence. Join us as we open the summit with a collective prayer and libation to honor our ancestors and invite their guidance throughout the day.
2:30 PM – Tracing My Genealogy: Discovering Our Lineage. This hands-on genealogy workshop helps you uncover your family’s story. Guided by expert genealogists, participants will learn real-world techniques to trace ancestral lines. Bring your laptop and as many family names as you know — you’ll receive personalized assistance to explore your roots and expand your family tree.
4:30 PM – The Family Mission: Building Our Legacy Together. In this interactive session, families will reflect on their shared values and purpose. Through guided exercises, you’ll craft your own Family Mission Statement — a declaration of what your family stands for and how you’ll move forward together as a collective.
6:00 PM – Bàtá: The Voice of Our Ancestors. Experience the sacred rhythms and songs of the Yorùbá tradition. Learn songs that honor the ancestors, with live Bàtá drumming. Participants will receive lyrics in both English and Yorùbá and be guided through song and rhythm for connecting with their Ancestors.
7:00 PM – Family Game Night . Close the evening with laughter, connection, and FAMILY FUN! Enjoy family-friendly games, food, and good company as we celebrate togetherness and community spirit.
