Join the Master Gardeners of York County for a two-part series exploring the impacts of invasive plants and how to manage them in your garden and natural spaces. This engaging program begins with a classroom session on Thursday, September 4th, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Penn State Extension Office in York, where participants will learn what makes a plant invasive, why these species are problematic, and strategies for identification and control. The session includes hands-on opportunities to examine plant samples and time for questions and discussion. On Saturday, September 6th, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., the learning continues with an interactive walk at Nixon County Park, where Master Gardeners will guide participants in identifying invasive plants in the field. Registration includes a copy of Plant Invaders of Mid-Atlantic Natural Areas Field Guide to support continued learning.
