Identification and awareness of child abuse for Elected Members - NW Coast Workshop for Elected Members
About this Event

Sex, sexual assault, and sexual wellbeing are often taboo topics in many households. Technology, social media, and recent changes in law have changed the landscape of relationships hugely, and it is important to understand the impact of these changes as we progress the implementation of the state government’s Child and Youth Safe Organisations Framework (CYSOF).

This workshop session delivered by Sexual Support Services will help participants confidently discuss sexual abuse and assault, understand the issues young people face, identify myths around sexual violence, and respond to concerns or disclosures.

These sessions provide a safe and supportive space for questions and open discussions, benefiting not just professional roles, but participants usually leave this training saying how it will also benefit their personal lives as parents, grandparents, friends, partners, and community members.

This program is supported by the Tasmanian Government.
