Mobile Tech Expo (MTE) 2023 is quickly approaching, and we are so excited! As always, we have a full lineup planned for the show. IDA members will be leading several presentations on Education Day, Thursday, January 26th. The IDA will also be hosting a complete IDA Certification Event - Phase I & II + Marine (CD-SV, MC) throughout the weekend. And, of course, MTE wouldn't be complete without the IDA Annual Business Meeting and Awards Presentation on Friday night. IDA Annual Business Meeting and Awards Presentation
Friday, January 27, 2023 | Doors open at 5:00 pm; Event starts at 5:30 pm
Come to our IDA Annual Business Meeting and Awards Presentation! We will update you on the state of the industry and the IDA, announce the IDA Awards winners, induct the next class of the IDA Hall of Fame, and give you the opportunity to connect one-on-one with other IDA members at a reception following the meeting. All are welcome to attend.
IDA Certification Event - Phase I & II + Marine (CD-SV, MC)
- Phase I (CD) – Friday, January 27, 2023 | 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
- Marine (MC) – Friday, January 27, 2023 | 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
- Phase II (SV) – Saturday, January 28, 2023 | 8:00 am - 4:00 pm (Two-hour timeslots). Space is limited to 4 registrants per SV timeslot.
Phase I consists of 10 exams, 10-20 questions each, in these subject areas: Equipment, Chemicals, Windows, Trim & Metal, Floors & Carpets, Seats, Paint Correction & Protection, Wheels & Tires, Prep Wash/Wash Bay, Detailing Terminology, Safety & Compliance. The Phase II (SV) tests represent the four primary categories that each candidate must demonstrate their “hands on” ability to perform (Wash Bay/Prep, Interior, Exterior Correction, and Finishing Steps). The Marine Certification exams consist of 5 exams, 10 questions each, in these subject areas: 1) Interior & Vinyl Care; 2) Paint & Fiberglass; 3) Safety & Environmental; 4) Terminology; and 5) Wood Trim, Metal & Brightwork. To take the Marine exams or sign up for the SV event, the applicant must have already completed Phase I Certification (either prior to or at the show), having passed the 10 written exams, to fulfill the classification of Certified Detailer.
