The Fool is the first card of the tarot deck commencing its journey through all the other major arcana. Like the joker of our modern decks, The Fool can stand for any card and hence by being a Fool we can become any archetype and free ourselves from the persona we have been assigned to, or assigned to ourselves.Fooligan from Bristol and improv actor Christian from Germany are practicing the Art of Being a Fool.
Fooligan and Christian met each other in an online theatre event during the pandemic and strongly bonded despite the absurdity of the situation.
Fooligan played his show “Is it serious?” at the Barnstaple Fringe last year while Christian will give his debut, hoping that at least his funny German accent will win him some hearts.
In a 60 minute journey of improvised vulnerability, the two will explore their inner masks and voices, kind or callous.
An energetic and empathic whirlwind of a show.
Two internal dialogues let loose on the stage and it's impossible not to be swept up in it.
They enter the stage without any plan or strategy to play unscripted tales, exposing the raw and genuine facets of being human, the bare nakedness of the soul.
This intimate performance, stripped of any over-paint by glitter and fake happiness, aims to create a heartwarming experience that resonates with the shared humanness in all of us.
Fooligan and Christian flesh out stories full of the anxieties, addictions, dreams, failures and the love in daily life – and it’s up to you to decide, whether they told humankind's collective stories or just their own little drama.
