Movie premiere! It’s 2007 in Texas, Raphael is in county jail following an arrest for graffiti. He’s a good kid. It’s just graffiti and he can in no way be blamed for any of the events that unfold after his arrest. He’s not responsible for Officer Williams and her delusional suspicions, the meth pipes, an aspiring rapper’s new mix-tape, a suicide, the FBI, those rich kids with nothing to lose, all the knives, the ambitious local TV newswoman, Larry the pig, the plutonium deal gone wrong or anyone who may or may not die due to that deal turning sour. None of this is Raphael’s fault. Yet, the moment he walks out of that cell it’s all his problem. Raphael is about to be stuck on a turbulent roller coaster of wildly misguided chaos. It’s a hilarious amusement ride that’s an absolute joy to watch… just as long as you’re not the one on it.Every year, It Came From Schenectady brings premieres to Schenectady that have only previously been screened at international film festivals. Some of these include “Trollhunter,” “Who Killed Captain Alex” and “RRR.” Last year brought “Late Night with the Devil” AND “Hundreds of Beavers.” And this year the film that everyone will be talking about is… “Rats!” Not rated. 85 minutes.
“Embracing a kind of absurdist reality that would make John Waters proud, directors Fry and Nalevansky swing for the fences with every single scene, creating a wall to wall laugh riot” – Screen Anarchy
“Chock-full of gross-out humor, emo haircuts, and a female cop who loves the c-word” – Dread Central
“Simply put, this is one of the craziest, funniest films audiences will see anywhere this year.” – Moviemaker Magazine
