Seven Hills Skydivers is once again hosting our annual Demo jump onto frozen Lake Mendota! The date is Saturday February 7th with a weather day Sunday the 8th.
Start time, as always, is 8am!
For non-jumpers we expect to be in the air as early as 10am!
== THE REQUIREMENTS ==
Open field demo requirements:
» Current USPA C license or higher, and
» Minimum of 200 jumps, and
» 50 jumps within the past 12 months from the event's date, and
» Five (5) jumps within the past 60 days from event's date (that would be Dec 9th) on the canopy model & size you will use for the demo.
These requirements will be verified by our S&TA before the event. S&TA will be on site the day of the event.
== THE COSTS ==
Registration fee is $60 to reserve your spot and to prevent last-minute jumper cancellations. This entry fee is refundable in case we must cancel the event (please see more in the last section of this post). The entry fee covers demo insurance, aircraft ferrying, ground transport from The Edgewater (the drop zone) and Wisconsin Aviation (the airport) - a 17 minute drive.
You can sign up before having met the requirements, but if you don't have the requirements met before jumping, you will not be allowed to jump and will lose your deposit.
In addition to registration fees, jump tickets will be $35 to 10,000 or $28 to 5,000 (our regular Winter jump pricing).
== THE DAY OF ==
We will start the day by meeting at The Edgewater hotel in Madison, WI 0800 on February 7th or 8th. (The 8th is the weather back-up date.) We will go over 2026 Seven Hills jumper waivers, have a safety briefing, check equipment and requirements, and organize loads. Everyone then will be transported to Wisconsin Aviation in Madison airport to takeoff, land in front of The Edgewater, pack at The Edgewater and/or Wisconsin aviation, rinse and repeat!
== CANCELLATIONS & WEATHER ==
As always, conditions must cooperate – not only the usual skydiving conditions, but the ice on the lake must be frozen thick enough and it’s a bonus if it’s covered with a bit of snow to make landings safer (ice traction for your footwear is highly recommended!)
Cancellations will be refunded if requested before Tuesday February 4th.
