About this Event

Unlocking Sacred Traditions: An ICB Public Lecture — Dr. Christie Yu-ling Chang

Join us for two enriching mornings with Dr. Christie Yu-ling Chang, renowned Buddhist educator and former President of Sakyadhita: International Association of Buddhist Women, as she guides us through the hidden meanings behind Chinese Mahayana Buddhist rituals and heritage.

In this immersive weekend course, Dr. Chang will explore the spiritual significance of incense, offerings, chanting, repentance rituals, ancestor worship (祭祖), and Pure Land practices — illuminating how these sacred traditions connect us to wisdom, gratitude, and compassion in daily life.

This is a rare opportunity to rediscover the depth of Buddhist ritual beyond form — to understand how each gesture, sound, and offering becomes a living expression of mindfulness and devotion.
