iBAM! Irish Books, Arts and Music Celebration Returns for its Sixteenth YearThe 16th annual Irish Books Arts and Music celebration; iBAM! returns to the Irish American Heritage Center (4626 North Knox Avenue) on November 15-17.
Kick the weekend off on Friday night with world renowned group, Altan. Leading the Irish Traditional music vanguard, Altan is recognized as one of the genre’s best touring bands. 7pm. $30-35
On Saturday and Sunday, programming features Irish authors, artists and scholars discussing their work, theatre and dance performances, film screenings, storytelling and exhibits, all under one roof! Admission to iBAM! is free each day, and hours are 12pm-5:30pm on Saturday and Noon to 5pm on Sunday. Highlights include an appearance by critically acclaimed novelist Cónal Creedon, sculptor Father Anthony Brankin showcasing his art, actor and director Josephine Craven's lecture and performance on W.B. Yeats, and a screening of the film, the Hegartys of the Laurels,
The iBAM! Awards Dinner and Cocktail Party on Saturday at 7pm celebrates the outstanding contributions of the Irish in the arts. Dinner tickets are $125 for IAHC Members and $175 for general admission.
