He was raised on a farm in Floyd County, Virginia and currently resides in Rockbridge County. Ian has a style of country music that is distinctively his own but is also reminiscent of western and traditional country. His songs are heavily influenced by his faith in God, family, and patriotism. He believes that “country music, when it’s done right, is honest and can get at the heart of the human condition, making you feel connected to the writer or singer. It can make you feel happy or sad, but is always about the truth.” His baritone voice combined with his down-to-earth story telling in his original songs make him a must-see at any venue.
