Our speaker is Ian Kendall. a retired headmaster and committee member of the Blue Mountains Family History Society.
Ian will talk about the difficulty of finding women in the 18th, 19th and early 20th century as almost 100% of women when married they adopted the husband’s name and the difficulty then when they become a widow.
He will also speak about his 5G grandmother Elizabeth Everingham nee Rymes and the entries in the public record. She lived in the Hawkesbury after arriving on the second fleet and marrying first fleeter Matthew James Everingham.
If time permits, he will also talk about his 4G grandmother Ann Baxter nee Rankin and her issues with court cases after she following here marriage to a fraudster after she was widowed.
