About this Event
Ian Galipeau writes happy-sad music about the grey areas... the sadness in love, the hope in catastrophe, the optimism of surrender.
The Loading Dock will be the last stop on my album release tour for an album called Something About A Horse. This album marks an overdue embrace of my north-country roots, with an alt-flavor and some heartfelt reckoning with my early life. There are barn-burners and heartbreakers, in equal measure. For the tour itself, this is the first time I've ever assembled a backing band for more than a single release show, and it's been an absolute blast bringing these songs to life with 'The Views' by my side. The Views are made of up Jon Braught (Modern Fools), Jeff Costello (Hug The Dog), and Ethan McBrien (Party of the Sun).
Dylan Patrick Ward is a folk misfit from Vermont's dirty south, known for his poignant storytelling and irreverent sense of humor.
Equal parts country-folk troubadour and indie-rock weirdo, his songs weave stories of outcasts, oddballs and people on the brink, and have earned him comparisons to great musical tragicomedians like John Prine, Randy Newman and the Mountain Goats.
A promising up-and-comer, he's been featured in the Monday Discovery Series at Club Passim and the Emerging Artist Showcase at Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. He's also shared the stage with renowned acts like Bill Callahan, Guy Davis, Jeffrey Lewis, Peter Mulvey and others.
His new album Ne'er-Do-Wells is available to stream everywhere.
