The Thing With Feathers
The Thing With Feathers are an alt-rock, indie pop and dance powerhouse, fueled by three of Nashville’s favorite fools: David Welcsh (vocals), Alex Hendricks (lead guitar) and Chris Roussell (drums).
Molded through a two-year evolution from frat bro cover group to budding powerhouse boy band by Welcsh between 2016 and 2018, ever-changing members and inconsistent style hindered the bands early years. After an initial connection between Welcsh and Hendricks, the addition of Roussell followed in quick succession, cementing the bands lineup and bringing about their debut single, ‘Song of the Nighttime’, in February 2019.
2022 and 2023 saw immense growth for the band, beginning with the release of Sundays in the South, followed by ‘Lights Down Low’ being added into rotation on MTVs Spankin’ New. The band was subsequently featured as an official artist at SXSW in Austin, TX. Through the rollout of the Feathers sophomore EP, Waste My Revenge, the band began to see great success on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube, being added to several editorial playlists and garnering hundreds of thousands of views on their channel. They also toured continuously throughout the south and midwest at iconic locations such as Nashville’s Exit/In, Chicago’s Lincoln Hall, New York’s Rockwood Music Hall, and more.
IAMDYNAMITE
Formed in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and now residing in North Carolina, IAMDYNAMITE is a musical duo composed of high school classmates Chris Martin and Chris Phillips. IAMDYNAMITE’s albums SUPERMEGAFANTASTIC and WASA TUSA showcase the band’s broad musical range, from fast-paced, anthemic, catchy rock to the soft synth-pop you imagine riding off into the sunset while listening. Both albums highlight their melodic, hook-laden songwriting skills and deliver on all emotional fronts.
IAMDYNAMITE has seen success with the songs “Where Will We Go” and “Hey Girl” from SUPERMEGAFANTASTIC, which together spent over 25 weeks in the Top 20 of the Billboard Alternative chart, followed by “In The Summer” from WASA TUSA, which debuted on the charts as well. These achievements mark a massive accomplishment for a band that was virtually unknown until that point. IAMDYNAMITE is now building on years of touring across the US and Europe. The Chris’s are currently writing, recording, and performing new material that combines the bombastic energy of SUPERMEGAFANTASTIC with the well-crafted musicality of WASA TUSA. With recent Singles “Bloom” off Wasa Tusa and “Corner Street” both having success in radio play and across the US, IAMDYNAMITE has latched onto what makes a fun and catchy moment that everyone can enjoy!
