About this Event
The Irish American Heritage Museum (IAHM) is proud to continue its quarterly event entitled "IAHM's Celtic Influences Performance Series." These shows, held at Albany's most intimate and unique performance space (IAHM's Flanagan Theater), highlight performers and acts from around the globe that share their energy and art with our rich, ancestral Irish culture.
On Friday, February 27, 2026 at 7:00 PM, IAHM welcomes Skye Consort & Emma Björling, a band that Lyra Magazine (Sweden) called "trans-Atlantic Chamber Folk," a genre that is unique among folk artists and classical chamber ensembles. Through Skye Consort & Emma Björling's love of different folk traditions and baroque styles, the band uncovers and presents many haunting texts and sonic elements from different worlds that take audiences on an unforgettable journey.
Skye Consort was formed in over twenty-five years ago (that would be in the last century!), and has performed and toured extensively. Skye Consort has recorded eight full-length albums. In late 2018, Skye Consort - in collaboration with Emma Björling - created a new repertoire with deep Scandinavian, Québecois and Celtic influences. Released in May 2019, their first recording titled Skye Consort & Emma Björling won the OPUS (QC, Canada) award for best world music album 2020.
