Layering various silk screened elements makes for a dynamic project. This two-morning workshop begins with a complete demonstration on preparing silk screens for glass — from image preparation to application. Then, using pre-prepared screens, participants will print a variety of images onto clear 96 COE glass with multiple colours of fusible screen printing ink.Once pieces are fired, participants will return the following week to create a striking 4-inch x 6-inch x 1-inch layered glass block, incorporating the printed designs and coloured glass. The process will also include instruction on loose fibre damming for firing deep.
Arrange a time with your instructor to come back and cold work your piece and it will be slumped for additional refinement and display.
All project materials, kiln firings, and cold working are included.
When: Saturdays, October 18 and 25, 2025, from 10 am to 12 pm
Fee: $325 + HST (includes all project materials, kiln firings, and cold working)
