* "Tabanca" is a term from Caribbean culture particularly Trinidad and Tobago that refers to the deep often painful longing or heartache experienced after a significant emotional event usually associated with unrequited love or the end of a relationship. It’s commonly used in soca music to describe the emotional withdrawal people feel after the high-energy Carnival season ends.
