About the Program
When people say “I don’t see color,” it is often an attempt to convey the idea that they are not racist and that a person’s skin color plays no role in their evaluation of people. This is a scientific impossibility. Moreover, people often mistakenly believe that simply being “not racist” is enough to eliminate racial discrimination. In actuality, taking a neutral stance on race can be a form of racism. This program seeks to define terms like race, racism, systemic racism, and anti-racism, and provide context to these concepts. Participants will come away with a better understanding of racism and the importance of anti-racist behaviors in the workplace and society.
