The Friends of Rock Road Library are organising another WRITING COMPETITION which will be open to any Cambridge-based school-age child. To enter, write a complete story - which can be true or fictional - in no more than 250 words on the subject
I DIDN'T EXPECT THAT TO HAPPEN IN THE SUMMER HOLIDAYS!
Rock Road Library's writer-in-residence Jane Wilson-Howarth will offer a copy of one of her Himalayan wildlife adventure books to the best entries and there will be book token prizes too. Prize-winning entries will be displayed in Rock Road Library.
Jane will also donate to the school library a copy of one of her Himalayan wildlife adventures for every ten entries received from each school.
Each story needs:
- a title that is different to the competition title,
- the writer's name,
- age,
- school,
- school year
- an email contact address if possible and
- word count.
The title isn't part of the word count. If the word count is more than 250 words, only the first 250 words will be read and judged.
The story can be hand-written or typed and delivered / posted to Rock Road Library, CB1 7UG addressed to RRL Writer-in-Residence (please provide an email contact address if possible) OR sent as an attachment by email to [email protected]
Stories will be judged by authors Ian Whybrow and Jane Wilson-Howarth
Deadline for entries is midnight on 15th October
Prize-giving is likely to be at 6pm on 13th November at Rock Road Library but prize-winners will be informed during the week before.
