About this Event
This event is run in conjunction with Dartford Grammar School and Dartford and East Sussex Computing Hub.
We would like to invite Y8 girls from local secondary schools to step into the world of computing with our thrilling workshop tailored specifically for female students.
Get ready to ignite their passion for coding and unleash their creativity with the incredible Micro:bit minicomputer and dive into a realm where learning meets excitement, where coding transforms into tangible creations right before their eyes. The journey (with Micro:bit) is not just educational, it's adventure packed with endless fun and imagination.
In the workshop your students will dive headfirst into hands-on activities, mastering the art of physical computing with expert guidance. Designed to spark curiosity, foster innovation, and equip students with the skills they need to thrive in the digital age and become the tech innovators of the future. The workshop will leave them feeling empowered and inspired to pursue further studies in Computing.
Workshop aims
1. Encourage girls to do Computer Science in GCSE and A-level
2. Hands on experience using Micro-Bit- physical computing
3. Understanding computing projects stages of development from planning, designing, programming, testing and evaluation
