About this Event
L.E.A.D by Leigh is proud to present, I AM HER
- an art showcase of empowherment.

Our motto “Leading Equality Advocating Diversity” drove from a lack of supporting resources and education to challenge the system. The concept for this artistic protest formed to showcase the female experience and what that looks like from our diverse sisterhood.

Behind the team is professional dancer & activist Amanda Leigh, award winning makeup artist Jennifer Little, and internationally published photographer Thomas Gould. We’ve spent the last year, photographing unique stories of survival, oppression, and resilience. It’s led our team to a beautiful place of humility and rage, and it's finally time to display our profound understanding and compassion for what it means to be a girl.

So whether you're with her, you were her, you're becoming her or you are HER, this event is for you!

This gallery is composed of 100 brave women, and we've only scratched the surface. Join us and witness the female experience is one only a victress can tell.

This event is completely non-profit, and all proceeds will be donated back to Elizabeth Bagshaw Society. As this is a fundraiser, no refunds will be granted

Elizabeth Bagshaw continuously strives to maintain the highest standards of care and have been a pillar of Vancouver's reproductive health services since 1989.

This clinic supports Clinical Teaching and Research through the University of British Columbia as they believe it is vital to improving the next generation of physicians and health professionals to understand this type of sensitive care.

As a registered non-profit, accredited medical facility – their caring team of doctors, nurses, counsellors, administrative, and technical staff are dedicated to providing the community a safe haven for your sexual & reproductive rights.

Some of the main services offered are:

  1. Abortion Procedures
  2. Contraceptive Care
  3. Local Anaesthesia & IV Sedation Available
  4. Counselling Services
  5. PAP Screening
  6. STI Testing
  7. Telehealth & myPostCare
  8. Interpreters on Site

There are multiple areas that could benefit from additional funding such as (but not limited to)

Interpretation services - as many of our patients speak English as a second language or not at all, imagine not being able to share fear/anxiety/concerns around such a stressful procedure

Medical equipment purchase and maintenance – e.g. ultrasound machines (for context, these are $110K), vital signs machines, recovery chair repair/maintenance

Patient comfort - things such as speakers in the ORs for music, art/distraction for the ceiling (which is where patients spend their time looking during procedure),

Counselling - onboarding more specialist to offer around the clock appointments, as well as more providers for the 24 hour help line.
