MDOT invites the public to attend an open house to learn more about the proposed improvements on I-75 from Laplaisance Road to N. Dixie Highway in the city of Monroe, Frenchtown Charter Township and Monroe Charter Township. MDOT is planning to rebuild 2.4 miles of I-75 from Laplaisance Road to N. Dixie Highway in the city of Monroe, Frenchtown Charter Township and Monroe Charter Township in Monroe County. Work is expected to occur in 2029-2030. Key improvements include removing the Elm Avenue interchange to eliminate existing weaving/merging issues that pose safety concerns, rebuilding the Front Street interchange with enhanced ramps to improve vehicle and truck movement, and upgrading traffic flow at the Front Street and N. Dixie Highway intersections.
