Alfred Chuang is a celebrated entrepreneur and venture investor, often referred to as the "Silicon Valley CEO’s CEO" by industry giants like Andreessen Horowitz. As the co-founder and CEO of BEA Systems, he spearheaded the company’s rise to prominence, culminating in an $8.6 billion acquisition by Oracle. Alfred also founded Magnet Systems, a leader in innovative mobile and web platforms, including the pioneering Magnet Beauty.

His outstanding achievements have earned him numerous accolades, including C/F Silicon Valley Philanthropist of the Year and the SD Forum Visionary Award. Alfred is currently a general partner at Race Capital and serves on advisory boards at top U.S. and Hong Kong universities.

Born in Hong Kong, Alfred holds a B.S. from the University of San Francisco and a master’s degree from UC Davis.

Professor Roger Chen of the University of San Francisco expertly blends teaching in corporate innovation and global competition with direct ties to Silicon Valley’s dynamic business scene. He co-founded the "Silicon Valley Venture Capitalists Confidence Analysis and Index" and has been instrumental in advancing the Journal of Asia Business Studies. His consulting roles span major corporations such as Intel and Panasonic.

Professor Chen holds a Ph.D. in Strategy and International Management from the University of Texas at Dallas. His leadership at USF has included chairing the Department of Marketing, Globalization, and Strategy, emphasizing his commitment to academic excellence and practical application in business.
