"Hypnagogia: Composed Realities, Distorted Lullabies" is an audiovisual interactive installation that explores the chaotic dream state of a young woman. A dia-carrousel and its corresponding soundscape represent the mental interior of a woman during a tram ride. Inspired by Chris Marker's La Jetée, a 1962 French science fiction film, "Hypnagogia" examines alienation, fear, and powerlessness during daily routines. The interactive installation takes place in a public vitrine of the Galerie Ravenstein in the center of Brussels. Just like a tram, the Galerie Ravenstein serves as an intermediate station – a place of movement, and being on the way.

Charlotte Bidée (°1996) is an audiovisual bricoleur. The Brussels-based creator is fascinated by care and how we can maintain gentleness in our relationships in an overstimulating world. Her wanderings and work throughout the capital are connected by research into the absurdity that arises from these fragmented experiences.
The work challenges the viewer to reflect on the defense mechanisms we develop in response to different realities that simultaneously demand our attention. The audience is invited to actively participate in the creative process at the Galerie Ravenstein.
