About this Event
Hypertufa is one of our most popular and fun classes. Using a lightweight cement product, we create durable outdoor containers. We've added a new twist, using a pumpkin mold. You will learn about working with hypertufa and take home a mold with your pumpkin inside. The mold can be removed in a day or two. You will have a pumpkin with a face on one side and just the pumpkin gourd shape on the other. As part of your fall decorations, display the jack-o-lantern side for Halloween and the natural looking side for Thanksgiving (or even throughout the year). Once dry, it can be painted, if you like.
If the day is hot and sunny, we will have the sunshade up over our outdoor classroom to provide some relief. Be sure to wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty and bring a water bottle. This activity is suitable for most ages. Who doesn't enjoy playing in the mud!
The outdoor classroom is located behind the main Extension complex inside the chain link fence. Access is from Clower Road and there will be temporary signs to guide you. There is a map below.
