About this Event
Make a leaf birdbath out of hypertufa (cement mix). These turn out gorgeous! We make the mix and cast the birdbath out of an actual leaf and the class is outside. It needs to set overnight and will need to be picked up the next day about 2, if possible. Everyone likes to come at the same time to see each other's birdbath.
This class is wonderful, just remember to wear older clothing and something to pull your hair back if necessary. The only thing you'll need to bring is a large contractors bag when picking it up the next day and sturdy water proof gloves for the casting (like dish washing gloves).
The birdbath will need to be sealed after it completely cures - for few weeks in your contractor bag. Watch for the part 2 class painting the birdbath (if you want to paint it).
We found that FLEXSEAL works best to seal after completed and is safe for our feathered friends. If this is going to be used as a planter, sealing is not necessary. Succulents look absolutely gorgeous in this!
The rain date is the next day (Sunday) or the following week -Saturday- Only if the weather is incredibly horrible.
Please join our group, The Bloomin Cottage and Classes too!
What the leaf birdbath looked like After the painting class ♡ which is typically a month later. You can choose any colors to pant it, but we guide everyone.
After the birdbath is cured and sealed without being painted.
