Let’s put on some gloves and get our hands dirty! Hypertufa pots are fun and easy to make creating unique containers for your home garden. These containers are composed of Portland cement, perlite, peat moss and water which looks like concrete, but is very lightweight.The best way to learn is hands-on! In this class you’ll be making a flower pot(s) to take home learning the step by step process to making hypertufa pots. This hobby is addictive, so once you start, you won’t want to stop! You’ll take home directions, care instructions, and creative ideas to further your garden experience.

Additional Information: This class will take place in-person at the Huntsville Botanical Garden in an indoor space.
Please come prepared to get messy!

About Your Instructor:
Rebecca Turk has been teaching hypertufa classes for more than a decade and loved adding new unique containers to her home landscape. Rebecca holds a Master of Science degree in Horticulture from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Stephen F. Austin State University. She discovered her passion for public horticulture and teaching through her mom and her various employments at the SFA Mast Arboretum, “Nacogdoches Naturally” Education Program, Missouri Botanical Garden, JC Raulston Arboretum, and Moore Farms Botanical Garden.
At Huntsville Botanical Garden, she serves as the Vice President of Learning and Public Engagement. She has a strong passion for educating the community, leadership, public horticulture, and sharing her love for the outdoors while teaching. She and her husband Christopher love their shared interest of horticulture and enjoy every moment outside with their sweet daughters Emilia and Ila.
