Join Claire for this Hygge-inspired restorative yoga practice. Using gentle stretches and deeply relaxing restorative poses, Claire will guide you on a journey into warmth, ease and stillness.
Inspired by the Danish tradition of “hygge”, this Restorative workshop is all about creating cosiness and ease.

According to Meik Wiking, CEO of the Happiness Research Institute in Copenhagen, hygge is about creating an atmosphere where we can let your guard down. We’ll light some candles, pull on our snuggliest socks and scarves and snuggle up on bolsters and blankets for this relaxing and warming restorative yoga practice.

This really is the ultimate warming and cosy self-care experience.
Entirely floor-based, the session will begin with a period of rest to acknowledge our current state of being and to connect with our breath.

We will then move into a slow, stretchy warm up to begin letting go of muscular tension and agitation and to prepare us for the longer holds and deep rest of the restorative poses.

The restorative section will include poses to release and open us out bringing both body and nervous system back into balance and allowing us to find softness and ease in body, mind and breath.
What to expect:
- An oasis of calm and quiet
- Clarity – clear instruction and plenty of time to get into and be in each pose
- Simplicity – no complex sequencing here!
- A gentle, slow and stretchy warm up
- Effortless poses supported by props
- Long periods of rest and stillness
- An opportunity to connect to your natural breath
What you will need if you’re joining from home or bringing your own equipment to studio:
- A bolster (2 pillows or a small rolled duvet make good alternatives)
- 2 blankets
- 2 blocks (large hardback books also work)
- A belt
- Maybe an eyebag and your favourite essential oil
- Candles
What to wear: Your comfiest, snuggliest clothes including socks, long sleeves, maybe even a cosy hat
