The ulterior motive of House of Youth Dialogue (HYD) since its very inception has always been to serve as a platform for the youth to develop themselves both personally and professionally through the process of unbiased learning and the art of diplomacy. The coherence of these learning aspects makes HYD a platform like no other. Given the current status quo of this world, one thing is certain. The concept of peace, regardless of its positive or negative nature, is far from being achieved. The ancient definition of peace, or what we call its “negative nature,” is the absence of war. But gradually, over the decades, it has developed into a substantial yet vague concept. Peace is no longer the absence of something but rather the presence of certain aspects. One of them is the presence of multilateralism and dialogue.
The sudden escalation of unlawful use of belligerents in warfare, the unforeseen hyperinflation, the growing existence of a threat revolving around climate issues, and the sanctions imposed multilaterally on parties of a conflict. All these and so much more have been posing an ever-growing threat to a world that has just escaped a disastrous pandemic but is still haunted by its aftereffects.
Although the idea of preserving peace seems like a long-onerous goal, the world has moved forward toward achieving it. This optimistic perception is solidified when we observe the goals or motives of the UN general assemblies over the last half-decade. The presence of relief societies and the development of functional relief programs such as COP-27 have been nothing but a mere fraction of the solutions that plenipotentiaries have planned to implement to rebuild sustainability similar to the pre-pandemic world.
However, people fail to see that this process of rebuilding sustainability is not singular but rather holistic in nature. Although the basic perception of the public has been developed through media by the visual representation of plenipotentiaries working on the scene, behind it lies the cooperation of countless subsidiary organs or independent entities.
HYD intends to reiterate exactly that.
“A man who explores is a man who grows. A caged bird shall only know the boundaries of its vision but never the world beyond it.”
Following these very words, House of Youth Dialogue brings upon an event that is meant to break the observatory limits of the diplomatic arena and venture into the true potential of what it could be.
