About this Event
✨? Join Casey Trees and the City of Hyattsville for a kid friendly nature walk and arts and crafts at Hyattsville's Dietz Park on Sunday, September 22nd!✨?
Together, we’ll identify trees as we move into fall, while also discussing climate change, plant philosophy, and how if you have the right tree it can make any space better for you and the community. ? ☀️?
? 2:00pm - 2:30pm - Gather, talk about the value of trees and how they impact our climate ? and community ?
? 2:30pm - 3:30pm - Tree Walk in Dietz Park - Immerse your senses in the nature of the park! ? See,?hear, and ?️ touch different trees and learn to identify trees by their leaves ?, bark ?, and shape ?
? 3:30pm - Tree Crafting in the park ?
While it will be an easy-paced walk, please note there may be muddy or uneven surfaces. No prior tree ID experience or books will be needed; we encourage all to attend.
Who should attend?

Requirements
Register: Please register in advance. If you are no longer able to attend, please let us know.
Waiver: All attendees must pre-register and sign a completed participant waiver form BEFORE participating in the Tree Walk.
Youth Attendees: Youth attendees may participate with an adult supervisor.
Clothes and shoes: Dress comfortably and appropriately for the weather. We recommend clothes to protect you from the sun. Please wear closed toed shoes that are comfortable for walking.
Arrival: Please arrive on time. Check in will begin at 2 pm.
Parking : Limited parking available on site
Water and sunscreen: Please bring a full water bottle and sunscreen to stay hydrated and protected from the sun during this outdoor event.
Food: No food will be provided on site, please pack in any food you would like to eat during the event. Be sure to leave no trace and pack out any trash after the event! There will be some trash cans on site.
Animals: No animals are allowed into the event, except for service animals.
Getting There
Parking: Limited parking is available at the site and street parking is available nearby. Carpooling is encouraged to reduce the number of vehicles.
Public Transportation: The nearest bus stop is 42 Av & Oliver St, served by busses 13A and 86.
Bike Parking: Bikes can be locked to nearby signs.
