Come along for a fantastic afternoon of music from two of the state’s top ensembles, the Hobart Wind Symphony and the Derwent Valley Concert Band, and featuring soloist Yoram Levy (former principal trumpet at the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra) who will be playing the Trumpet Concerto by Alexander Arutiunian. The concert, which has an underlying theme of Journey, includes John Adams’ ‘Short Ride in a Fast Machine’; ‘La Procession du Rocio’ (Joachim Turina) which is a 60 km pilgrimage through Andalusia, Spain; and ‘Symphony No.1, Lord of the Rings’ by Johan de Meij - the ultimate epic journey.
So, come along for the ride.
