About this Event

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the seminar "Ho Chi Minh City’s Low Carbon City program: From concept to action" organized by the World Bank Group (WBG) in Vietnam and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment (DONRE) of Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday, 29 June 2022.

This workshop is the second in a series of seminars organized to gather representatives from the public and private sectors to raise awareness and gather opinions on the development of a Low Carbon City program for Ho Chi Minh City.

The seminar will cover the main topics below:

• History and status of the voluntary carbon finance market and potential for Ho Chi Minh City to access the market

• Presentation on WBG Low Carbon City program

• Actions to be taken by market participants to access the market, including local and national government; public and private asset owners; MRV groups and offset issuers; and emission reduction credit buyers

• Inputs and interest from private sector leaders to participate in the program

An interactive approach will be utilized that brings together a broad range of market participants by engaging the participants in the presentations, opinion and idea-sharing, and collective discussion using new technologies.

The event will be hybrid, with a Zoom connection and in-person participation at the Ballroom, Sheraton Hotel HCMC.
