START TIME 3:00PMStart Point: In the lobby of the Lakeside Inn. Do not park in the hotel parking lot, there is a public parking garage across from the hotel.
The routes: 5KM (3.1 miles) one hour or 10 KM (6.2 miles) two hours in the quaint lakeside town of Mt Dora, FL.
SPECIAL START TIME: 3 PM!! We'll walk, have dinner dinner, then walk and enjoy the wonderful holiday lights & decorations of Mt. Dora!!
Registration starts at 2:30 PM in the hotel lobby seating area.
Carry water and bring a flashlight.
Mt. Dora is about an hour's drive from the Daytona Beach area - take I-4 to exit 101c, FL46, near Sanford and following signs for Mt Dora about 18.5 miles. Upon reaching the town, turn right on N. Highland St. and drive 4 blocks to the traffic signal at E 5th Ave. Turn left on E. 5th to Alexander St. and drive 5 blocks to the Lakeside Inn. Use nearby public parking lots, as the hotel parking is for guests only.
You may walk with the group or at your own pace. Maps and Directions are provided for the routes. Registration starts 30 minutes prior and the cost is $4.00 for participants 12yrs old or older. Children to be accompanied by an adult. Walkers who keep books may stamp for this event.
The walks are rated 1C (some small hills & dirt trails.) The majority of the route is on city sidewalks and is generally suitable for wheelchairs/strollers.
