After selling out at the Hollywood Fringe and earning rave reviews, Hurricane Party is an original comedy play making its way to New Orleans before heading across the pond to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival! Set in the heart of Louisiana, where hurricane parties are a way of life, the story follows three high school friends who reunite in their hometown just as a storm rolls in. What starts as a night of drinking and reminiscing soon turns into an unforgettable journey of laughter, chaos, and self-discovery. With elements of improv woven into every performance, no two shows are the same—so you never know what surprises the storm might bring. Written by Bridget Purdy, an improviser, actress, and writer originally from New Orleans, Louisiana. Her years of enduring hurricanes in her hometown helped her to write Hurricane Party. She got her Bachelor of Comedy Writing and Performance from Columbia College in Chicago and completed The Comedy Studies program at Second City. You can catch her on stage every second and fourth Sunday in the Broadwater Studio performing with her improv team, Snack Run. Bridget is so excited to finally bring this play to the stage after working on it for a little over 3 years.
