About this Event
The Stanford Asian American Theater Project and Stanford Theater Laboratory present a Developmental Stage:
“HUPPET” - A NEW MUSICAL BY LANA TLEIMAT AND SEBASTIAN BLUE HOCHMAN
DESCRIPTION
Come see the first workshop production of Huppet, an original musical written by Stanford students Lana Tleimat and Sebastian Blue Hochman. Lisa’s mom is human, her dad is a puppet, and she’s not sure where she fits in. So the summer after senior year, she’s going to Puppetland to meet her puppet family for the first time and find out— and maybe write her college essay in the process. On one hand, the show’s a funny, poignant musical comedy explaining ourselves and where we come from. But it’s also about living a mixed experience in America right now. Lisa will find where she fits into her family in Huppet: a hilarious original puppet musical about belonging, diaspora and identity.
WARNINGS
Huppet has discussions of racism.
