The Huon Ex-servicemen and women’s club are excited about hosting a State Championship Wood Chopping Competition on the 22nd of March.With the Tasmanian Wood Chopping season drawing to an end, the competition has attracted some of the state's finest axe men, including National Pro Champion Kody Steers. Kody will have his eye on the State Title along with Steven Foster and Owen Lovell. Much work has gone into preparing for the day as it has been 9 years since the Club held a Wood Chopping Event on the Clubs purpose-built arena. The Clubs vision is to hold a community event for the community and with the community, this will include a local coffee van provided by Que Sera Sera Coffee, Award winning gluten free donuts by Decadent Donuts, proudly owned by Mark Direen and a BBQ held by Huonville Lions International. The Clean up between events will be managed by the Huon Valley Soccer Club and raffles will be held throughout the day to raise funds for their Club. Local businesses have sponsored the event with the major sponsor being Bendigo Bank. An exciting day for the axe men, and with the Great man himself David Foster on the microphone, it is sure to provide World Class entertainment to all of the Huon and its visitors
