A Cultural Experience is a rare and intimate cultural exchange taking place on Tuesday, 13 January 2026, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, at the Brazilian Cultural Center in Marrickville, Sydney. This event marks the first time the Huni Kuin tradition is represented in Australia by Pajé INKA, a spiritual leader from this Indigenous people of the western Amazon rainforest in Brazil. The evening will feature a special screening of the documentary Eskawata kayawai – The Spirit of Transformation, a 70-minute film directed by Patrick Belém.
Filmed over seven years in the heart of the Amazon jungle, the documentary offers an immersive and respectful insight into the spiritual, cultural, and ecological relationship the Huni Kuin people have with the forest, their ancestral rituals, and sacred medicines.
Following the screening, participants will be invited into a traditional singing circle led by Pajé Inka, a spiritual leader of the Huni Kuin people. Sacred songs are a central way knowledge, prayer, and healing are transmitted within Huni Kuin culture, and this moment is offered as an opportunity to listen, connect, and experience this living tradition with respect and presence. No previous experience is required.
This gathering is offered as a cultural experience and exchange, creating a bridge between cultures while honouring Indigenous knowledge systems and traditions. Spaces are limited to maintain the intimacy and integrity of the experience.
Pajé Inka will also be participating in other events around Sydney and Australia. For more information about additional gatherings, please contact Luis - 0423 789 977.
