About this Event

Start Point: 2196 Lake Shore Blvd W, Etobicoke, ON M8V 1A4 (At 501 streetcar stop)

End Point: 200 Parkside Dr, Toronto, ON M6R 2Z3 (The Grenadier Cafe - 15 min walk to High Park TTC Station)

Length: 7 km

Pace of hike: 4km per hour - Moderate

Difficulty: Beginner

We will be starting our walk in the Humber Bay area, continuing on paved paths along the lakeshore through Sunnyside Beach towards the Roncesvalles Pedestrian Bridge, where we will head north into High Park, eventually ending at The Grenadier Cafe. The walk will be at an easy-moderate pace and will allow for views of Lake Ontario towards downtown Toronto, a walk across the Humber Bay Arch Bridge, and opportunities to enjoy 1-2 butterfly habitats en route. Binoculars are encouraged for some bird watching!

Let's Hike T.O. is a hiking community open to everyone with a focus on newcomers, people of colour, and young adults aged 20-40. All are welcome on our walks.

What To Expect

Hike leader: Becky (she/her) & Josh (he/him)

Registration fee: $5 though if you cannot afford it, please contact us at [email protected] to request a complimentary registration based on your circumstance.

COVID-19 safety: Hikers will be encouraged to keep socially distant where possible and to wear masks when 2 metres distance is not possible on the trails.

Limited tickets: This hike is restricted to 10 registrants. Tickets will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis and are non-refundable.

Pre-hike email: Registrants will receive additional details by email the day before the hike, such as what to bring on the day, what to wear, etc.

Weather precautions: The hike will take place regardless of rain, wind, or snow so please dress accordingly! We will only cancel or postpone the hike if weather conditions are considered extreme or dangerous, in which case registered hikers will be informed 48 hours in advance.
