About this Event
What if, for a moment, you could suspend any ideas you have about what dance is?
Instead, reflect on a moment from your past, where you really let yourself go… on a dance floor, at a wedding, at a bar, in your room or a studio, at a festival or maybe out for a run or at the gym…
Sink into the memory of how amazing that felt.
As a human being, it is your birthright to experience pleasure through your body. Pleasure accompanied by an unshakeable sense of health, connection and the emergence of wisdom that's rooted in tangible reality.
So…
What if dance wasn’t about having the right moves, looking good or being attractive to others, but was about being true to the human that you are? About discovering what this means and feels like?
What if allowing yourself to feel and follow what feels good to you was actually the doorway into a sense of joy, interconnectedness and belonging far beyond the ordinary?
What if you gave yourself permission to be as you are, to move as you can and want to, to follow the threads of what truly feels good in your own body, heart and mind?
What do you think you might discover if you gave your body the invitation to move however it wanted? What do you think you might open or heal? What new powers and capacities might you unleash?
So please, come, join us - very simply, humans in motion - together.
Come celebrate and discover who and what you truly are and what we can do when we are connected to our own bodies, hearts, minds and each other.
Let’s move!

WHAT:
Two hour, guided, conscious dance class.
There will be facilitation to support a deeper connection to your own form and the forms of others. We will mostly move to music. You will not have choregraphed steps to learn or follow. We will move with each other. Touch and physical contact will often be a part of class, but is always optional and self-determined.
WHO:
Humans in Motion movement classes in Edmonton are being produced as a partnership between Kelsey Wangler (Inked and Organized) and Ruth Levin (Embodied in Motion).
Class is led by Ruth Levin - an embodiment educator with over twenty years of experience. Find out more about Ruth here: http://www.embodiedinmotion.com/about
Movers of all ages, gender and sexual identification, ethnicities and degrees of movement experience wanted :).
Content is curated for adults, but occasionally younger ones have enough maturity or focus to enjoy as well. Anyone under 18, will need an adult present with them. Reach out to facilitators to inquire further.
The movement space is accessible to those with reduced mobility and adjusted facilitation provided for those in need. If you are able to give us advanced warning of your needs we will be able to meet them even better.
