About this Event
A Panel Discussion Hosted by Eden’s Farm
Human trafficking awareness has increased nationwide—but awareness alone does not ensure justice, safety, or meaningful change.
From Awareness to Accountability is a timely panel discussion hosted by Eden’s Farm during Human Trafficking Prevention Month, a moment when national attention is heightened and public conversations are increasingly shaped by high-profile trafficking and exploitation cases in the media. As these cases unfold, they raise urgent questions about accountability, system response, and the realities survivors face long after public attention fades.
This panel brings together leaders from law enforcement, prosecution, policy, and direct services to examine how systems respond to human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation - and where those systems fall short. The discussion moves beyond awareness campaigns to explore what accountability looks like in practice, particularly when survivor safety, dignity, and long-term healing are centered.
Panelists include representatives from:
- The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office
- U.S. Attorney's Office, Western District of Pennsylvania
- Law enforcement
- Direct service providers working with survivors
- Lived Experience Experts
Together, panelists will discuss:
- The realities of investigating and prosecuting trafficking cases
- The role of state and federal systems in accountability
- How direct services intersect with legal and policy responses
- Gaps between public awareness and system follow-through
- The importance of cross-sector collaboration in preventing harm and supporting survivors
- What accountability truly means beyond headlines and convictions
This event is designed for professionals, advocates, students, and community members seeking a deeper, more critical understanding of how accountability is pursued—and how it must evolve—within anti-trafficking efforts.
