Assessing and Treating Suicide with Confidence(DHR866)
Suicide continues to be one of the leading causes of death in the US. There is a death by suicide every 11 minutes. Mental health clinicians play a key role in assessing and treating suicidal thinking. This course will cover a better understanding of the suicide continuum, and current statistics and research. Participants will learn how to use tools to assess suicidal thinking, and treatment planning. These skills are from CBT-SP and DBT including safety planning, chain analysis, and ways to grow hope. Clinicians will also have a better understanding of how to assess for suicidal thinking in other populations.
