New Orleans artist Keith Perelli presents a collection of mixed media paintings and collages exploring portraiture, florals and abstracts in his exhibition "Human-Art, Surrealist Portraits." Influenced by Louisiana's culture and landscapes, his work reflects both the beauty of the state and the challenges of living on the Gulf Coast.Perelli’s figure-based work blends abstraction and naturalism, depicting subjects stripped of gestures and emotions to reveal vulnerability and resilience. His densely layered compositions use bold marks and shifting shapes to explore identity and human experience.
While visiting, head upstairs to the Mezzanine Gallery to view "Louisiana Birds and Gators," an exhibition featuring Jackson Hill’s photography and Caroline Marshall Hill’s paintings.
Both exhibitions will be on display at Hammond Regional Arts Center from January 17-February 27th.
