About this Event
Hullabaloo's All Star Slam brings to life the poignancy, hilarity and immediacy of poetry slam for local students! An interactive event, audience members engage in time-honored slam traditions, such as booing the scores (respectfully) and cheering wildly for the poets, with a Q&A afterwards. This year's event features Patrick de Belen (Toronto), Erin Dingle (Calgary) and Chris Tse (Whitehorse). Not only stellar poets and well-established professional artists, these three are some of Canadian poetry slam's most successful and decorated competitors!
Co-produced with Vancouver Writers Festival
Hullabaloo is BC’s Youth Spoken Word Festival. Students representing high schools from around the province share their poetry to appreciative audiences every year. Find out what the youth have to say.
Access: Accessibility of each venue will be added here as soon as it is available.
Vancouver Poetry House events take place on the ancestral territories of the Xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh First Nations, whose lands were never sold, ceded, or relinquished,—lands that were taken. Vancouver Poetry House supports the resurgence of Indigenous culture and the work of Indigenous poets.
